The SGA, a national professional organization, where each members hold the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and have each demonstrated a long-term commitment to and competence in the business golf and asset analysis. The SGA currently has 24 active members geographically spread out in every region of the US.
SGA members have taught, published and written extensively on golf appraising in general and specific issues related to membership, intangible value, tax valuation, market data, etc. SGA publishes an industry leading publication including The Drive, a bi-annual newsletter, and the SGA Annual Investor & lender Survey, the preeminent source of investor and lender business criteria, and others.
Members are regularly quoted in national and regional golf and real estate newsletters and magazines including Time Magazine, The Washington Post, Walls Street Journal, and have appeared as guest experts on cable news networks. Members also are cited at the wining expert in various golf related court decisions. The SGA membership attends national and regional golf conventions and meetings. Often the group, or individual members, share ideas in forums and teach breakout sessions regarding a variety of related topics. Representative venues include the Golf Industry Show, Crittenden, NGF, Golf Course News, National Institute of Golf Management, Harvard University, National Institute of Golf Management, International Association of Assessing Officers and Golf Course Superintendents of America. The SGA “speaker’s bureau” program offers expertise and data to individuals, groups, organizations as instructors and guest speakers.
